WEDDING // Sophie & Ian’s Brixton East Wedding

Brixton East Wedding_057
Sophie & Ian had the sweetest wedding / knees up / celebration  in one of my favourite London wedding venues, Brixton East.  I was only in attendance for 3 hours, but I don’t think I stopped smiling once in all that time.

They had a very personal, informal ceremony under the large clock with friends and family looking on.  I love how heartfelt their words to each other were – words that were purposefully written by them, for each other – so different to the standard wording at a civil ceremony!

Thank you both for being so wonderful to work with, and for trusting me to go to a dodgy bus depot for your couples photos! I think it worked out ;) . Lots of love to you both xx

Ify Uchegbu - Hello, I’m a humanist wedding celebrant and I came across your website – looks great by the way. I also write for Brixton Blog and have been asked to write a piece on humanist weddings. I was wondering if you, Sophie and Ian would allow me to use a photo from their wedding in my article? I will of course credit you. Ideally if they are available for comment, that would also be great.

Thanks,
IfyJune 3, 2018 – 1:39 pm

WEDDING // Natalie & Ross’s Stoke Newington + Londesborough Wedding

Natalie & Ross Stoke Newington and The Londesborough Wedding_073

While putting together my Best of 2015 post, I realised there were SO many awesome weddings from last year I haven’t yet had a chance to blog.  Summer is a busy time here at KHHQ and while I’m shooting and delivering photos for my couples, things like blogging tend to fall by the wayside.  So…it’s winter…it’s a tiny bit quieter, and I’m determined to catch up!

Natalie + Ross got married in East London in May and it was a proper east end knees up / wedding /*Otis Redding (*check out their invites below for more wedding related cockney rhyming slang!).  It was just a brilliantly fun, relaxed, happy day and I loved being part of it.  Thank you so much to Natalie & Ross (and their gorgeous little girl Fearne!) for having me there and being awesome clients. xx

WEDDING // Adele & Ant’s Outdoor, Rustic Paper Mill Hawkhurst Wedding

Outdoor weddings make this photographer’s heart beat that little bit faster.  And can you blame me? There’s something amazing about two people making their vows to one another under a forest canopy; no sound save for the rustling of the trees in the breeze, and the words which you speak.

I was so completely honoured to photograph Adele & Ant’s incredible wedding. It was my favourite kind of days: beautiful, chilled out and full of joy.  Adele looked perfect in her wedding dress (made from vintage Quaker fabric!) and there wasn’t a dry eye in the house during Ant’s speech.

Thank you to Yolande de Vries for shooting this one with me, and a big thank you to Adele & Ant for being the best kind of people. Lots of love.

WEDDING // EMMA & RYAN’S OUTDOOR TRILL FARM WEDDING

I love photographing photographer’s weddings.  I always explain to my couples beforehand that the nicest light for portraits is a small window shortly before sunset. And, though I don’t know why, this always seems to be right when the meal is in full swing.  Most of my couples are really great about this and are happy to finish up their course to pop out for 10 minutes or so, though I’m never ever pushy about it (food is very important to me too, I’m not even going to lie).  But with photographers as clients, even before you can whisper “golden hour”, they’re putting down their knives and forks and are ready to go. And I’m so grateful, because you get light, and photos, like the one above.

Emma & Ryan got married in the amazing Trill Farm in Devon. I love this venue for so many reasons, all of which you can see for yourself in the photos that follow.  I also love Emma & Ryan’s style – from the gorgeous 2 piece dress Emma wore, to the amazing decorations in the barn.  That brilliant fabric backdrop? Handmade by Emma.  As for the favours – photographs of each guest as a child – how bloody incredible. Don’t you just love the guest’s reactions?!

Thank you so much you guys, for being really ace clients to work with.   All throughout the day, come rain or shine (or a collapsing ceremony floor 10 minutes before KO), you were just amazing. xx

Katharine Peachey - What a lovely wedding all perfectly captured of course. Beautiful tones and colours. xNovember 19, 2015 – 6:26 pm

Heidi - Beautiful, awesome job Kat, as always. I love the hue of your greens. Also LOVE the brides dress, stunning girl xNovember 19, 2015 – 8:14 pm

Charlotte Bryer-Ash - Kat these images are beautiful! What an incredible location for a ceremony! xNovember 30, 2015 – 6:20 pm
