WEDDING // Hamish & Chloe’s Hackney & 6 St Chads Wedding

I don’t even really know where to begin with this wedding. :)  Yes, Chloe and Hamish wore incredible outfits. And yes, 6 St Chads looked fab. And yes, there were lots of brilliant, funny, personal details.  But I bet my bottom dollar that the first thing you notice, before you see any of that,  is the complete and utter joy. The celebration.  The laughter.  The tears.  It was infectious, and it was beautiful.

No, it wasn’t your average wedding.  There was no white dress, and Chloe & Hamish’s first dance was a choreographed Kate Bush extravaganza which involved a dozen guests and a few roly poly’s. There was even a guest dressed up as a fluffy white cat.  It was brilliant, and irreverent, and joyful and I left with my jaw aching from smiling all day.

Chloe & Hamish are so completely in love, and Chloe & Hamish are also so well loved by those who know them.  It was such a privilege to be part of this.  Thank you both SO much for having me along to your day, you both are just the best.  Also big thanks to Lisa Brown for stepping in to second at the last minute, you were brilliant.

WEDDING // Sophie & Alex’s Rustic Country Wedding

Rustic country wedding
What a way to start the season!   Inclement weather, a fabulous all-singing groom’s speech and a ridiculously gorgeous bride rang in my first wedding of 2013.  Sophie and Alex got married at Wick Farm, near Bath a few weeks back and it won’t be one I’ll forget in a hurry. :)  Despite the weather, which was a bit too typically English than we would have liked, these two managed to have a fab knees up surrounded by their friends and family.

Special mention must go to Nina the bridesmaid whose waters broke after speeches (I told you the speeches were good!).  She gave birth to little Finley that very evening (in hospital!).

Thank you to Becky Male for seconding on this one and thank you so SO much to Sophie & Alex for having us along and letting us be part of their fab day.  You guys are totally ace together :)

WEDDINGS // A frame or two….

Do you follow me on Facebook? No? Well you might have missed these little sneak peeks from the past couple of weeks.  There was rain, there was snow, there was (a very tiny bit of) sun, there was a lot of dancing, and champagne and even some singing.  The wedding season has started off well!

PRE-WEDDING // Chloe & Hamish

Chloe and Hamish booked me to shoot their wedding nearly a couple of years ago now.  I’ve been hearing about their plans since then and my oh my, it’s going to be a fun one.  Can. Not. Wait.

On a rather nippy day earlier in March we headed down to Dungeness, where the sea disappears into the sky and tumbledown ships sail on the shingle.  It really is a surreal place.  Thanks to Chloe & Hamish for being silly, for being brilliant, and for singing in the car. :)

Ciara - Love this engagement shoot Kat. Gorgeous couple and amazing location.March 26, 2013 – 7:35 am

Some days the light just catches on everything.  It curls around corners, seeps through the leaves on the trees, and reminds you that winter doesn’t last forever.
