WEDDING // CHRISTIANA & OWAIN’S OUTDOOR JAPANESE TEA GARDEN WEDDING

Last month, Christiana married Owain and became Mrs Christiana Rose.  I can’t imagine a more fairytale name, can you?  And how appropriate, because it was such a  fairy tale wedding too :)

There were so many highlights I don’t even know where to start… maybe the GORGEOUS shoes that Christiana spent about 3 weeks customising, sticking on each diamante individually? (Amazing) ; or the fact that the ceremony was held outdoors in the Japanese tea garden at Fanhams Hall Hotel;  or maybe the greek dancing in the evening?  Actually, I think it probably has to be the fact that Owain not only penned a tear-jerking poem to his wife for his speech, but he also seranaded her with a song he wrote himself.  Seriously well played, Mr Rose!

Those shoes…!

Victoria & Florence did such a wonderful job with the bouquets and floral arrangements!  Check out this gorgeous little bridesmaid and her bouquet! How sweet! And they smelt heavenly.

What an awesome day!  Thanks to Cristina Rossi for seconding on this one and big BIG thanks to Christiana and Owain in letting me share their day with them.  You guys are amazing and are going to be so happy together!xxx

FRIDAY FAVES // This Week’s Good Stuff 17.08.12

Oh my.  Well, it’s all been a bit whirlwind here.  Lots of beautiful brides, awesome grooms, jaw-dropping venues, engagement shoots, the Olympics (yay!) plus a bout of seriously nasty flu has meant that this blog’s been a little quiet of late.  But hey! :)

Seriously though, how amazing have the Olympics been? From the moment the Queen launched herself out of a helicopter (yes, it WAS really her, I’ll not be told any different.. ;) ) to the moment the flame flickered out from the last petal, I was captivated.  Along with most of the nation it seems (well, my twitter feed anyway).  For 17 days, London was absolute magic and I can’t wait for the Paralympics to begin.

Other things I’ve loved recently….

// ONE FOR THE SIMPLE LIFE //
I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the new online mag The Simple Things .  A perfect read for a lazy Sunday morning.

// ONE FOR THE SHAKEN, NOT STIRRED //
For the longest time, when anyone asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up, I’d always say a Bond Girl.  I have no idea why, a lot of them seemed to meet with untimely deaths, but yeah. I thought it looked like fun :)  I took the other half to Designing 007 at the Barbican a little while ago and it was brilliant.  Not only did we get to see a lot of the props and backstage stuff, but my favourite part had to be the room full of costumes…including a dress from the upcoming Skyfall (whose trailer, incidentally, looked AWESOME).

// ONE FOR THE BOOKWORMS //
Bored of all the 50 Shades chat and wanting to read something …erm…good?  (Or at least different?)  How about Dark Matter by Michelle Paver. It’s a ghost story set in the Arctic. And it’s good.

// ONE FOR THE DIY BRIDE AND GROOM //
Listen, I know mason jars have had a seriously bad rap recently. But what about RAINBOW mason jars? Yes?

Back with some wedding pretty soon! x

WEDDING // Georgia & Ben’s Super-Fun Countryside Wedding

I absolutely loved Georgia & Ben’s wedding.  A gorgeous garden marquee, coconut shy, an olde sweet shoppe, brilliant guests and the happiest couple.  What a perfect combination.

The most amazing thing  was how the bride and groom’s friends and family all pulled together to make the day special for them.   Not only was the venue the grounds of Georgia’s parents’ house, but Georgia’s mother helped style the grounds along with the help of Jessica of Luna & Luxe (who happens to be a friend – how lucky!).   Friends played music during the ceremony, the service itself was led by a family friend, and others gifted mini golf sets or hired the services of a magician to entertain guests during the reception.  I’m sure there’s lots more, but I can’t quite remember :)  All I know is these two are really loved by their nearest and dearest, and for good reason.

Yes, it rained. But you know what? I don’t think Georgia and Ben even noticed.  They were just so happy to be there, so happy to be married, so happy to be with each other.  Just the way it should be :)

A special mention to Florist in the Forest who did the flowers and bouquets for this wedding.  This bouquet was the most heavenly-scented one I’ve ever come across. Amazing.

(I’m quietly convinced that in a parallel universe Georgia’s a Hollywood actress. I mean, look at her. Stunning in Suzanne Neville).

Big thanks to Heidi Veitz for assisting and thank you SO SO much to Mr & Mrs Jones for having us along. You guys are awesome together. That is all :) xxxxx

ENGAGEMENTS // Melina & David’s Sunny Boho Lakeside Engagement Shoot

Meet Melina and David.  They’re getting married next summer in London.  And that photo you’ve just seen? Probably one of my favourites  I’ve ever taken.

This shoot will always be a bit of a special one.  Do you remember the  Oxfam Wedding Auction back in May?  Loads of us wedding industry vendors donated their products and services to raise money for Oxfam (in fact I think the auction raised a total of over £35,000 by the end!).  Melina and David generously bid on, and won, my engagement shoot lot, which was to be styled by Meryl of Homegrown Bride.  Emails flew back and forth, a pinterest board was up within hours, and we managed to get some fantastic vendors on board.  Yes, we pushed the boat out a little (and in more ways than one) but we all wanted to create something really special.  I like to think we did just that :)

FRIDAY FAVES // This Week’s Good Stuff 13.07.12

Woooah, it’s Friday 13th!  Are any of you superstitious? I’m not really, which is kinda surprising considering I’m 1/2 chinese (and as far as I can tell being superstitious is part of the Chinese DNA) :) So this week has been a bit dull I’m afraid.  Other than shooting an adorably beautiful wedding on Saturday, I’ve spent most of it indoors with my very good friends: Photoshop, Biscuits and Tea.  But that’s fine, because this upcoming week is looking super busy and hopefully should involve a lot of outdoors (I’m looking at you not to drop the ball, weather. You hear me?)

Things that have blown my mind / made me smile / inspired me this week are…..*drum roll please*

//ONE FOR THE CABIN FEVERISH //
So, I’ve been stuck indoors  a lot this week.  But imagine if your indoors was continually moving through the outdoors. Say what? Check out this INCREDIBLE design proposal.  Really, sometimes you look at the magic that comes out of people’s heads and wonder why the world isn’t already superduper awesome.  There’s so much potential.

// ONE FOR THE BRIDES AND GROOMS //
For all your wedding pretty needs, check out Issue 3 of Reverie Magazine. As ever, it’s a beaut.  Dribbling. All. Over. Keyboard….

// ONE FOR THE PINTERESTED //
Are you on Pinterest? Yes? Me too!

// ONE FOR THE CREATIVES //
I’m travelling down to Bath to shoot a wedding that day, otherwise I would  be here in a heartbeat.   If you go, tell me ALL about it – please!
